Kauko Rajala (born 1925) has had an important role in the success of Arabia dishware sets. He began to work at Arabia in 1950 as a potter . Later on he became an assistant to Kaj Franck's in product design department until 1953. From 1953 to 1961, Rajala worked as a potter in small workshops. In 1950 he returned to Arabia's product department, working as an assistant for Ulla Procopé.
