The process of creating ceramics is like a life philosophy to Claire. Feeling is looking with her hands.
“Working with clay, a gift from the depths of Mother Earth, is like getting a burst of positive, primal energy”, she says. “In the same breath, I experience pure inner peace. The purity in energy, material and process results in the frugality of my design. A line, a curve, a small detail... Everything is unique and created with respect for origin and tradition.”
Circa presents some of the most significative works of Claire Horsten: her stoneware lamps. We love their raw surface, their delicate harmonious sculptural shapes and the intimate light they produce. In our pages you will also find some elegant vases and minimalistic tableware pieces, made in grainy and white glazed clay.
